My Reactions to The CW's Riverdale Trailers

Hey! What gives!? When I heard that The CW was going to have a series based on Archie, I thought it was going to be...like... 30% comedy, 20% romance and 50% sleuthing to uncovering a little town's huge conspiracy. I didn't know it would be a murder mystery (with perhaps 2% comedy? ... I guess?). Ok, fine, so it's a murder mystery. Where's the Archie Comics comedy to do with it? I mean, if they're going to do this, they should at least make it a dark comedy where they still had the Archie Comics comedy still intact. This looks like they didn't even care to make it have any comedy at all. *Pfft* Well, we'll see... Looks to be way too serious for me. Well, there's always hope for the movie, Archie Comics announced a while back, to have the classic Archie vibe to it. After all of this time, we get Archie in live-action again and it looks to be purposely way off base from it's source material; that's always tacky. I'd prefer to atleast see what this brand is known for first. Ever since that whole "The Death of Archie" stuff, they've been delving into crime drama and horror with Archie and the gang, and now it's flooded over to live-action. While, I'm not happy with this vast departure from what we all think of when we think of Archie Andrews, I feel as though this was done, quite obviously, with bold purpose. They want to shake things up -- to make us all feel uneasy -- to make us all feel as though the perfect little town can be tainted by murder. Plus, if it wasn't The Archies, fewer people would care top watch it. It would just be another random murder mystery show. Well, I will certainly give it a chance. The CW seems to do what it does quite well. Why would the narrative quality of this show be any different with this show? I think I will like it. I do like murder mysteries and The Archies. Mixing them will be interesting to see.
