Ok, I’ve been off this site for years & I’m only just now getting back into this, so I’ll just dig right on in. This is not an official review, but with a few more elements, it could very well could be. This is more of a rant.

I liked Avengers 4; it has a lot to like. However, it has a very big problem: most heroes didn’t even get to fight Thanos, let alone ever even get close enough to him to make it possible to do said fighting. I can’t believe they put these actors through costume, hair (wigs, whatever) & makeup for like mere moments of screentime. I understand that in the world of movies, that’s nothing new, but I mean, this isn’t some drama, it’s a got-darned sci-fi/fantasy/action adventure movie with tons of Marvel superheroes! (Yeah, I said “got-darned”, come & fight me about it 😛) . Why pay all those actors just to relegate them to being background elements & back-background elements?  It was very strange. It was like a hybrid of them all doing cameos all at once, while also fighting in a pivotal lore-defining war. I thought that all the heroes would be rushing at Thanos to get, at the very least, a few good licks in before being smacked away. Why make the audience all excited when they all appear through the portal, only to let them down by putting heroes half a mile away in the background? & if you blink, you missed a blurry version of them fighting… for half a second! Wow… Great! Good stuff!

Big woop! So what? You broke the record for having the most superheroes on-screen in a battle all at once in a live-action film. Great! Congrats! “We did it, Joe!” I wish I could feel happier about it, but the celebration over it feels tainted by the lack of “superhero versus Thanos” action on-screen. I thought this would’ve been one of the most rewatchable fight scenes in superhero movie history, but nope… & I don’t care about how ambitious the film was, the record-breaking hero count was or how they came to an end of an era. I needed that fight to be sheer madness.

I swear, that final act screws with my fanboy OCD. Just knowing that anytime I watch the film, it’s still gonna be moments that waste precious time. I can fast-forward all I want, but that won’t erase the time-wasting talking parts & add more action to the movie; It’s still the same exact movie; ugh. Really bugs me. I squirm when the movie wastes time with Gamora kneeing Starlord in the groin… TWICE or other try-hard comedy/wannabe heartfelt parts. Like I give a friggin’ care! Go back to the action! Those time-draining parts take away from MY action, so stop wasting precious time & go punch Thanos’ big, purple, California Raisin head or something!

Look, I’ll just say it: screw Thanos’ army. His army being there was what stood in the way of me seeing the “no-holds-barred/white-knuckle/all heroes versus Thanos” action scene I wanted to see. It felt like Marvel Studios was covering its tail. I mean, hey, maybe I’m wrong, but that final fight sure did feel rushed to me. Writing the army out of the script or, at the very least, making them easier/quicker to deal with so that the secondary & tertiary heroes could get to Thanos would’ve been better. But nope – let’s just make a massive army to keep them all away from the Mad Titan himself.

I mean what happened, Marvel Studios? You were doing so well action-wise, then you dropped the ball in the fourth quarter. I’ll tell you one thing, when the Justice League finally do fight Darkseid in live-action, I can almost guarantee that it’ll be more enjoyable than what we saw in Avengers 4. All they’d have to do is learn from Marvel Studios mistake & have the main AND SECONDARY… AND TERTIARY heroes get time to fight the main villain instead of writing it so that they’re simply there to hold back his army, while simultaneously breaking a character count record. I’ve heard people say they liked Avengers 3 better – heck – I do too! But whenever I bring up how more heroes could’ve & should’ve had time to fight Thaonos, there are those that say “the movie would’ve been too long”. Ok, wow, & that would, what, be a bad thing how? If it’s action & not meaningless dialogue drivel scenes, I’m all for it. Another possibility would be take out the nonessential talking altogether to make room for the action… *long dramatic pause*... 🎶DUH!!!🎶 I thought we were in the era where I didn’t have ever say again that Cartoons usually handle this type of thing way better. They give each hero actual moments to shine.” Especially with Marvel! Sheesh… & after those complex Sam Raimi Spider-Man movie fight scenes of the past, I thought we’d never go back to the old days of skipping action… Never. But alas, here we are. They really dropped the ball. Although the film had some great action, the part I wanted just wasn’t there… Well, I mean, it was there but I give it a C, not an A+. It’s like being a teacher & your star pupil, who aces every essay is now feeling complacent, cocky & lazy, so they start lacking in the greatness that you already know they’re capable of; the greatness you’ve already seen them accomplish.

Ok, TED Talk over…

Due to EXTREME technical difficulties, I won't be on this site very often. It's  messed up that I can't be on here editing away like I used to, but it seems it just can't be helped. :( Edits to this site will come very, VERY, V E R Y slowly. Anyways, check me out on facebook.com/JulianCapehart, & on Twitter @JulianCapehart. I'll be back, when I can. Thanks for your patience...

Wow!
Cool apartment/hallway fight. I really appreciated the part where Black Bird flipped the guy in the apartment. Or is it Blackbird, all as 1 word, since it's a DC character? o.O You know how they do; Superman, Batman, SwampThing. I feel like I should mention something about Netflix' hallway fights here, but can't think of anything clever enough to say. But hey, the fight speaks for itself.

Gosh darn it, Fox! I keep seeing these commercials for The Passage while watching The Gifted, & it looks pretty good. Looks like it'll easily satiate my horror/sci-fi cravings while waiting for Legi⨂n & Stranger Things to come back on. I'm gonna have to cave-in & watch it, even though I have more than enough to watch already... Should be cool to see which shows get bumped off of my Top 5 Shows of the week list, though. But what can I say? I just ❤️  competition. Hehehe :)

Wow, I bet Marcos won't fall for the old 'Wait, I have to buckle-up for safety." trick ever again. Sheesh. Given his past, I would have thought he wouldn't fall for something like that.

Well, it seems that Gotham has taken my top spot from Avengers Assemble: Black Panther's Quest for the week of 1/13. That week, Gotham had Bruce/Selena (with her new powers) vs. what I can only describe as Mutants from The Dark Knight Returns o.O?, & Selena vs. Ecco. Avengers put up a good fight though, having T'Challa's Grandfather teaming up with Cap & Agent Carter. Not to mention, the episode quite possibly featured Stan Lee's last recorded voice-over (maybe),  fingers crossed that it's not. But in the end, I had to give it to Gotham.

Why didn't Henderson look in the back of one of those armoroed trucks? He looked in the back fo all the others. That sort of bothered  me. Why hold a gun out & point it at everything except the back of the lead truck. I watched that part over just to make sure I saw it right. Had to bring Black Lightning down to #3 this week, because of that skipped fight between Cutter & ALL OF the police.

HAHAHA I was reading this article about the movie Us", & they write this...

"There’s a heap of Tweets which somewhat convincingly spell out possible plots — to avoid potential spoilers, we’re linking to them herehere and here."

,
& I'm like 'How are theory tweets from people who aren't even involved with the film going to spoil a movie that hasn't even come out yet??? Like, how??? I want to know.' They the article goes on to spoil the ending to Get Out, though... XD XD XD. Ok, so to review: It's not o.k. to post movie theories directly in the article, but it is o.k. to post the ending to a movie that came out in 2017, when the whole article is it's own fan theory about connecting a movie to from 2017 to a future movie from March 2019. HAHAHHAHA XD Yeah, glad we cleared that up. I've always said that the internet is too sensitive to spoilers, but now it's gotten to the point where they won't even post fan theories in an article of a movie that comes out in March??? Dang! Like, who's THAT sensitive, though??? Who's gonna walk out of the theater mad that someone on Twitter guessed the ending, or middle or whatever??? o.O

Thank you, Jordan Peele. Because of your newest trailer, I'll now be listening to 'I Got 5 on It' everyday for at least 2 months straight.

Cry_Wolf fooled it's audience in more ways than 1. We all went into this movie thinking it was a slasher flick. There was a gun shot at the beginning', a gun shot at the end, & no slashing at all. There was that 1 shot of the first victim's hand with a few fingers missing, but who even knows who, or what did that. You never get to see.

ATM's ending is a letdown. I was hoping for a bit more than that, especially with the Josh Peck's character lying about having a lighter, & the woman acting strangely insincere in certain parts. We never get to see what that was about. Sheesh... I might have to hold out hope for an ATM sequel being better at fleshing some things out, the same way Im holding out hope that Jackals will have a sequel that is better than the first.

Oh, yeah… Umm...

About that...

When I first created Julian Capehart Online, it was through a free, basic html site. When that hosting site became defunct. So, I decided to continue JCO through Wix. I was on a landline computer at the time & all was fine -- but to my surprise, I found out that Wix didn’t have editing capabilities on laptops & tablets. *Flashforward a thousand years later* Wix FINALLY allows site editing on a touchpad & touchscreen aparati. I had to wait years for Wix to finally catch up to where other website platforms were for years

& well… I wasn’t able to come back in 2023 like I had hoped…

Now  that I’m able to edit my site again, I’ll be doing an overhaul; getting rid of outdated links, adding new features, getting rid of old features, etc., etc. It’ll be a process, so please be patient & bear with me..

Anyways, my BIG business site is coming this later this year & I’d be honored if you all would follow my future creative endeavors. My newest company will encompass comics, animation, film, novels, other kinds books, apparel & more, all under one umbrella! More details coming soon.

(Hopefully not “Wix getting non-landline editing capabilities” soon…)

~~~ 🥳🎉🎊 Oh, yeah & HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 🎊🎉🥳 ~~~
